ABOUT RAKEWOOD HIGHER MILL
Rakewood Higher Mill is an exciting project involving the Restoration, Renovation and Repurposing of our 19C Textile Mill to create multiuse Education & Meeting Spaces, Historical Areas & Exhibits and Rental Spaces for Businesses based around our core values of Community, Environment and Well-being.

We are entering our final stage of repurposing and hope to have the site open to visitors and users groups by Autumn 2024.

J Clegg & Bros are a comission textile lamination and raising business. We have been carrying out textile finishing for over 200yrs and now specialise in multi-layer textile lamination and bespoke textile raising.
Rakewood Heritage
Go back in time and explore the only remaining textile wet finishing area in Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

Once the beating heart of the mills finishing processes, this heritage area is as it was when built in 1900's and includes many old textile machines.
Space @ The Mill
The community and education areas are places within the mill which can be used by all as places to meet, teach or create.
